For a slightly guilty dinner tonight we made some indulgent, juicy vegan burgers using ‘Vivera 100% Plant Based Veggie Steak’.
The veggie steaks were cooked in the oven at 200C for 20 mins. Once cooked we then laid slices of Violife Original ‘Cheese’ on top of the burgers and put them back under the grill to melt.
Meanwhile we shallow-fried some finely diced onion and garlic in a pan over a low heat for 10 minutes and added some salt and pepper to season.
The onion and garlic mix was spooned over the top of the burger and cheese and a few torn gem lettuce leaves placed on top. We drizzled Flying Goose Sriracha Mayo and some regular vegan mayo over the lettuce.
We used New York Bakery Co Bagels for the buns, which we sliced in half, toasted under the grill and then placed the burger with all the other ingredients between the two halves.
This was SO damn tasty. Definitely not one for every night, but a great treat once in a while. The Vivera Veggie Steaks are sold as a vegan ‘steak’ alternative, but they work really well as a burger with an amazing texture and taste.

We also tried this a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, don’t really know what all the fuss was about 😉 It’s a good burger though! 😀
